What Can Hamster EAT?

Not everything that tastes good or is healthy for the rodent is healthy too. Some of our treats may even be toxic to the little one or cause illness.

Pelleted hamster feeds provide a well-balanced diet for every bite, which is why they are often recommended. Pelleted diets can come in many forms, but usually look like little biscuits, biscuits, or cereals.

A hamster can be fussy with loose seed mixtures and eat only its favorite foods, resulting in an unbalanced diet. Pelleted diets prevent this, but they are a bit monotonous and some hamsters reject it. A pelleted mix can be supplemented with a variety of other items as long as the pelleted feed forms the bulk of the diet. At Pet Spike you can get to know different kind of foods & their benefits for little chuppy hamsters.

Fresh food and treats for hamsters

You can give your hamster a variety of human foods as long as the treats do not exceed 10 percent of your hamster’s diet. Avoid junk food and stick to healthy things such as whole grains, fresh vegetables and fruits (in moderation, otherwise it can lead to diarrhea). Commercially bought treats such as drops of yoghurt and honey / semen sticks are too sweet for a hamster and should be avoided.
