About Pet Spike

Earlier this year, I and my flat-mate decided to welcome a new addition to our home, a cute little pet to keep us company and give our flat a more homely feel. Given our busy schedules and rarely being home at the same time, we decided on adopting an adorable hamster. Between the two of us, we thought how hard taking care of a quaint animal like a hamster could possibly be?

We couldn’t have been more wrong, as it turned out! Walking into a pet store and buying a Syrian Hamster was the easiest part. The trouble started when the store representative went off the bat with paperwork regarding vaccinations, questions about the habitat we’ll be providing and the food options available. We were absolutely clueless!

Once we started the market research we found out too many options in too many things we hadn’t even considered beforehand. There were dietary supplements to go through, vet visits to schedule, Hamster cages available in the market, hideouts & hamster house to choose from, and a huge variety of hamster toys to browse through.

Trying to look for the best of everything for our pretty munchkin, we realized the need for an ultimate guide. Our love for our pet made us aware of the number of people out there who, like us, would be going through the same amount of trouble or more.

That was the birth story of Pet Spike! We built this website to help our fellow pet-lovers choose the best of everything and be able to make an informed decision about all that is accessible.
